About the Programme
The Doctoral School of Experimental and Preventive Medicine brings together a team of esteemed academic doctors and internationally recognized collaborators. The school offers seven training programs: Neuroendocrinology; Neuroscience; Gastroenterology; Regulation , Measurement and Analysis of Life Processes; Medical Microbiology and Antimicrobial Immunity ; Preventive Medicine; and Medical Genetics and Genomics. In addition to exceptional expertise and extensive experience of supervisors, the high scientific standards maintained across each institute ensure that PhD theses are of the highest academic quality. The publication requirements for PhD students follow the D and Q scientific rankings, offering options such as submitting one D1 article (if not already claimed by another author), one Q-ranked publication, and an additional English-language article to form the basis of the dissertation. Alternatively, students may fulfill the requirements with two Q2 articles along with two other English-language publications, or equivalent combinations.
Foreign students with excellent academic performance are eligible to apply for opportunities such as departmental half-stays, the Szent-Györgyi Faculty Scholarship, the Excellence Scholarships, the University Research Scholarship Program – awarded annually by the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund – and various Richter scholarships.
Please note that applicants are required to choose a topic proposal indicated on this website and contact the doctoral school and the supervisor before submitting your application.
