| Studiengebühren | 3.500 € pro Semester The schedule of tuition fee payment is determined on the basis of consulate/visa regulations. In case of applicants coming from visa restricted countries, payment of the full tuition fee (1st and 2nd semester) is required. Details will be indicated in the letter of admission. In case of visa rejection or other circumstances beyond the applicant’s control which prevent the applicant from starting their studies, a postponement for the next academic year/semester or a full refund can be requested. To request a refund, applicants must submit an official refund request along with the official documentation that proves the reason why they cannot start their studies. | Einstiegsqualifikation | Masterstudium / Masterabschluss (oder höher) Application requirements: MA/MSc degree in a related field, transcript, proof of proficiency in Russian and some knowledge (reading, understanding) of another widely spoken European language, list of academic publications, research proposal, CV and an individual interview in person or online. Please choose a topic proposal and contact the doctoral school and the supervisor before submitting your application. Who should apply? We expect applicants to be interested in theoretical, historical, typological and applied issues of languages. It is an advantage if the applicant has a Hungarian language and literature MA, Foreign languages MA, or Theoretical/Applied Linguistics MA. Übersicht
Description of the program:
The educational programs of the Doctoral School of Linguistics provide students with theoretical and methodological knowledge necessary for doing research into the theoretical, historical, typological and applied aspects of linguistics as well as writing scholarly papers and a PhD dissertation. In the programs basic theoretical subfields of linguistics are introduced such as phonology, syntax, semantics, sociolinguistics and/or applied sciences in language teaching, research methods, writing papers and a PhD dissertation. Rigorous coursework includes learning about theoretical issues and research directions, and it develops critical thinking, and various abilities of analyzing and processing information.
There is also a focus on developing skills to identify and solve scholarly problems, carry out research, and prepare publications. Graduates usually choose their careers in academic disciplines, teaching and translation.
