Short Description
About the Program: The Gateway Online Program aims to give general knowledge about the basics of law regarding the European Union.
This is a program that is focusing on online teaching with the usage of pre-recorded teaching materials and optional Interactive Learning Seminars, meaning that students can enrol just for remote studying or they can also apply for specialized training group sessions.
Further courses will be added later to the Program.

Courses of the Public Sector Legal Studies
EU Copyright Law
Prof. Dr. Péter Mezei
Participants of the course will get familiarized with the doctrinal and practical aspects of the European Union’s copyright law. The module allows the students to enlarge their analytical, practical and language knowledge related to the EU copyright law. The module, therefore, covers the fundamentals, the history, the directives of EU copyright law, and addresses the most recent practical questions of this field in light of the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union.
European Public Policy

The curriculum aims to give acomprehensive approach to European policies. European Public Policies are developed in a sharing of responsibilities between the three institutions of the European Union. The European Commission has the formal role as initiator of the legislative proposals, the Council of the European Union and the European Parliament decide jointly, and adopt the legal acts.The curriculum presents the various supranational, national and sub-national institutions and actors that contribute to the EU legislative process, and also provides rich methodological, conceptual and empirical explorations of public policies,debating its rationale, validity and appropriateness.
Research and Development in the EU

The aim of the course is to introduce the history and functioning of research and development and innovation in the EU and in its relevant policy. By accomplishing the course, students will be able to understand the basic concepts in relation to research, technological development and innovation; to identify the history, the institutional background, the financing and the perspectives of research, technological development and innovation in the EU; and to read and interpret the basic documents of the EU’s research and development policy.
